Personally I add “winter driving kit for my car” to my fall checklist. It might sound random to you, but it’s not to me. I winterize my car the same way I winterize my house by placing a snowbrush, shovel, blanket, and de-icer in the trunk of my car.

For example, an area of the roof that you want to keep an eye on for potential damaged shingles. A tally and location of all gutters. You can probably tackle all these items in one weekend. That leaves more than enough time to head out and enjoy all the gifts that autumn brings.
